Vi ønsker Harstad krisesenter velkommen som nytt medlem hos Krisesentersekretariatet! Harstad krisesenter ble etablert i 1982 og er et gratistilbud til innbyggerne i Harstad, Kvæfjord, Ibestad, Bjarkøy, Skånland og Tjeldsund. Krisesenteret er et supplement til offentlige instanser i samarbeidskommunene.

Krisesentersekretariatet er en medlemsorganisasjon drevet nå av 28 krisesentre og som arbeider i forhold til vold mot kvinner og vold i nære relasjoner. For å styrke krisesentrenes arbeid utad er vi samlet i en felles organisering. Sekretariatet er et bindeledd mellom krisesentrene, offentlige myndigheter, forskningsmiljøer, kvinneorganisasjoner i inn- og utlandet og samfunnet for øvrig. Vi er en kunnskaps- og kompetansebase som koordinerer og delegerer relevante saker både lokalt og på riksplan og er med på å profilere krisesentrenes arbeid utad.
